This information session will provide information on the interdisciplinary minor for non-STEM students that is open to all. This minor focuses on empowering you with data literacy tools to interpret and translate algorithmic output within your major field of study. This minor is also heavily focused on the ethics, policy, and social theory of data use.

Native Plant Nursery - Tour and Activities!

Center for Urban Horticulture - SER-UW Native Plant Nursery Hoophouse

The SER-UW Native Plant Nursery is home to over 120 different plant species, all naturally and historically found in the Puget Lowlands. Come tour the nursery and learn about our different methods of plant propagation, projects that the nursery takes on, projects that past student interns have initiated. Be ready for some hands-on activities that may include transplanting baby seedlings to larger pots, pruning more mature plants, or weeding in the hoophouse or in the gardens. Learn about the regular volunteer events we host and different ways you can get involved in horticulture at the only student-run nursery on campus!

UW Farm Open House and Tour

UW Farm

Come visit the UW Student Farm! Hear from student staff and the farm manager about farm programs and how you can get involved with growing food for the community. Make new friends and see the crops while strolling the farm paths. Nearby are trails in the adjacent Union Bay Natural Area and Center for Urban Horticulture Soest Garden. FREE UW Farm stickers and magnets will be available to all attendees!
